I have not been able to find out much about this artist, Arie de Groot. His website is here, and I think he is Dutch. I think much of this work has stitching and textile elements but I'm not sure. I like the use of these frames. If anyone knows something more, please let me know.

Hello Lari,
Indeed Ari de Groot is Dutch (I'm too). You can find more at:
http://www.galeries.nl/index3.html, a dutch gallery site. Go to kunstenaars (= artists), click g and r and you'll find his name and links to his work etc.
Best, Eric
Thanks so much for that info Eric. I went over to your blog and look forward to looking more at your work and posts. I am a fan of the Dutch aesthetic!
Oh wow, love his work! Those blue atmospheric circles have such a presence.
Hi Lari,
As mentioned here above, Arie is indeed a Dutch artist, working and living in Rotterdam. I've been a fan for a number of years now and have become friends with Arie and his wive Hilde. I can tell you that he's one of the most genuine, authentic people and artists that you'll ever meet! He has a pretty recognizable style that is very intuitive (he doens't "overthink" the work) and consistent, but does keep evolving which always makes it fresh and interesting.
I would definitely recommend buying Arie's work to anyone I know, as it has a timeless quality and keeps amazing (some of his works have been in our house for over 20 years and still amaze me everything I look at them). He also has a beautiful book that you might be able to order via his website.
Hope this helps!
