I love to draw people in cafes and restaurants. I wish I could do it in a way that the subjects don't notice me, but they always do. It's the energy that I'm beaming towards them. It always makes them look over at me, then the mood for discreet capture gets ruined. But here are a few sketches.
These are the latest Layers project pieces from Erika (top) and me. I made my piece with the idea of expanding on Erika's use of beads to sew down her round shapes on her last offering. I wanted to make fat little pillows of paper and sew them together with a bead, but this is what happened instead. Working with this very soft and pliable khadi paper from India really shaped what I did. I will get info from erika on her process and post here.
I am an artist working in watercolor, acrylic, and collage. I live in a small village on the coast of Maine. I blog to connect and share my art and my everyday life with others. It's a place where I can touch down to document what I experience as an artist.
