Beach Day and Mr. Thumps

We had a beautiful day at Reid State Park. It was foggy and later sunny. Ice cream cones were involved. I also slipped in this sagging silo because it is so picturesque. This cat is "not desperately fat...just a little rotund" as I once overheard a woman in London say of her brother. Others might disagree, but I am loyal to the the handsome Thumps.

More Summer Scenes

This is a painting I just finished. Last weekend we went to Pemaquid Point to watch the ocean. Queen Anne's Lace is pure summer to me. The Casa Blanca lilies in the garden have been so gorgeous and give off a fragrance that perfumes the air all around. On the way to the farm I saw these goats...they stand stock still for a long time...I guess they just love being on top of their world.

Summer Scenes

Here is a little bit of what summer has been like. Look at the beautiful bowls made by Ingrid Bathe, and produce from the farm. We have been eating the most delicious beets, squash, corn and green beans. Here is a kid in the swimming hole in Bristol Mills. I have been sketching and painting and gardening. The sweetness of this time is colored by the frenzy of trying to experience everything to the fullest. All longing seems to be about this.
