This is a painting I just finished. Last weekend we went to Pemaquid Point to watch the ocean. Queen Anne's Lace is pure summer to me. The Casa Blanca lilies in the garden have been so gorgeous and give off a fragrance that perfumes the air all around. On the way to the farm I saw these goats...they stand stock still for a long time...I guess they just love being on top of their world.
Here is a little bit of what summer has been like. Look at the beautiful bowls made by Ingrid Bathe, and produce from the farm. We have been eating the most delicious beets, squash, corn and green beans. Here is a kid in the swimming hole in Bristol Mills. I have been sketching and painting and gardening. The sweetness of this time is colored by the frenzy of trying to experience everything to the fullest. All longing seems to be about this.
Why do we go all the way up to Belfast to go to Chase's? For the vibe, the art, the coffee, the farmers market, the sketching, the food, the flowers, the coolness.
I am an artist working in watercolor, acrylic, and collage. I live in a small village on the coast of Maine. I blog to connect and share my art and my everyday life with others. It's a place where I can touch down to document what I experience as an artist.
