Long post, I know, but I've been working and thinking. I realize that much of what I draw and paint has to do with growth and repair. Roots, rivulets, nets, weaves, mends. Organic processes. I believe in repair as a means of growth. Repairing what is broken; reaching across some strain to mend. It's easier to give up and start something new, but I don't think the beauty comes from that, but rather in the growth that comes from repair. I've also re-opened my Etsy shop, and am planning to put some of these in the shop in the next few days. I also realized I liked to keep the best stuff for myself, to remind myself that I can do it. But I'm changing that and offering my best because I have faith in the process!

Hi Lari,
I've been following your work on Etsy and flickr and now I'm posting a comment here for the first time! Your work is very organic and peaceful. I love all those realization through making art...!
Have a wonderful weekend:)
very fascinating.. am so drawn to mending myself too. not sure why but may be the same?
Thank you both! I really love the way we can all share our thoughts about it on this fascinating behemoth called the internet!
I really like how you are able to use similar imagery on different supports and evoke the same loose organic feeling- the ink and wash drawings translate nicely to the relief like surface on the panels. I especially like the third down with the red circles.
Ingrid, it's so nice to meet you. i like your blog, and have already looked at several of your posts. I will post about your blog this week!
hooray to restocking your shop! i'm about to do the same. my husband once told me that we have to put our favorite work out in the world, to make room for the next favorites.
So true Katrina!
