I have always loved old, decaying structures for their weathered beauty. I especially like structures that were built originally with great integrity and solid, honest materials. In Maine we see many beautiful old barns and houses that have fallen into such disrepair that they are abandoned to slowly fade and fall apart. This artist,
Ofra Lapid, made this body of work by using an amateur photographer's studies to create small scale models, which were then photographed and put into gray backgrounds. I think the stark beauty comes from removing them from their context so they can be seen without interference. Simple and brilliant.
