Drawing Lately
I've been away at a meditation retreat in Sonoma, California. We were in silence for 9 days. I kept up my drawing project practice, and these are some of the drawings I did. Silence is a powerful practice. I think I'll be trying to have some time every month where I observe silence. I felt like my drawings became more intimate, and this pleased me.

Days of meditation and silence... this is something I have been thinking about doing for a long while. I hear it can be life changing. I don't know if I could go for 9 days, but I need to start somewhere.
So glad to have discovered your blog...
Thank you Janis. Your blog is beautiful. The silence and meditation made me appreciate listening...in all ways.
The drawings you did in silence feel like "inside/outside" or "above/below" drawings. They really feel like drawings done in silence in the middle of a very noisy world! Thanks for sharing!
